Chesterfield Animal Hospital offers a wide variety of veterinary services. We offer the latest diagnostic and treatment techniques, and are committed to working closely with you to find the right treatment for your pet.

Scroll below for a brief summary of our services.

Behavioral Medicine

There are many undesirable behaviors that our pets can develop that can be addressed by our veterinarians.  Often these behaviors can be changed or minimized with treatment and training.  Some examples of these behaviors include separation anxiety, inappropriate urination, and aggression.

Dental Care

It is very important to take care of your pets oral health.  Dental disease has been linked to kidney disease, heart disease, and liver disease because of all the bacteria that exist on teeth.  We offer full dental cleaning, scaling, and polishing under anesthesia.  We feel that it is important to use anesthesia to evaluate each tooth fully above and below the gum line.  We also offer dental radiology or x-rays to check for early root decay.

Hospice / Euthanasia Services

There comes a time when the best we can do is to end the suffering our companions feel.  We understand how hard a decision this can be.  We offer cremation services and well as the option to offer these serves at a clients home in select cases.

Wellness Care

Wellness care is also called preventative medicine.  It is often better to prevent disease like heartworms than to have to treat an existing infection.  Ask any of our staff about how to prevent heartworms, ticks, fleas, and other internal parasite infections.

It is essential to the overall health of our pets to have wellness care which includes yearly physical exams and comprehensive bloodworm as needed.  This will allow us to determine the earliest signs of disease.  We can then intervene early and extend the quality of life of your pet.  A good example of this is early kidney disease which often can be easily managed, versus late kidney disease, which has too much damage to the kidneys to be managed well.

Internal Medicine

We offer full diagnostics and care for all ranges of disorders of the skin, intestines, heart, and endocrine systems.

Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. We offer Home Again microchip to increase the chances of a safe recovery.

Nutritional Counseling

Nutritional care can be as basic as helping you determine quality foods that will help provide your pet with the nutrients they need as they grow, to helping choose a specific food based on the unique challenges your pet faces.  For example picking a special diet for a diabetic cat that will help control their blood sugar and weight.

Pain Management

There are many circumstances in which our pets feel pain including surgery, injury, and chronic illness.  We can assess your pets level of discomfort and provide treatment as needed.
